I recently had the pleasure of meeting Leonie Markorst of The Signature Bow. Leonie has been on the Vancouver blogging scene ever since she moved here three plus years ago. It was a big move from the Netherlands but it was this milestone that marked the beginning of her blog. While her blog name was initially based on her signature item of the time – the bow, of course – it has ironically transitioned to a much less ‘girly’ aesthetic. Just follow Leonie along on Instagram, and you will see her minimal and easy-going OOTD’s, no matter the season. In a sea of over-the-top ensembles, it’s admittedly refreshing to see the sheer simplicity she brings to her blog and personal style. I love it!
I asked Leonie about her ‘go-to’ summer style and here’s what she had to say. “My go-to summer style is, as in every season, fairly minimal and easy-going. I wear denim all year round, while swapping in chambray shirts and blouses for silk sleeveless tops and camis. While I usually stick to a mostly muted ‘colour’ palette – think black, grey, and white – I like to add a little bit of colour to my looks when the temperatures rise. An icy blue or pretty nude makes an outfit a bit more summery, but still fits that minimal aesthetic. My must-haves this summer? A little white dress, wrap skirt a la Alexander Wang, and Birkenstocks.”
*head to toe: Oak + Fort top, Zara pants, Zara heels, Fiveleft clutch, Michael Kors watch.
