Montreal street style-4

We fly out to Montreal at least couple of times a year to visit family and the city where StreetScoutMe was born. Jeremy spent his last trip out there mostly with family but, of course, made time to capture some street style.

The best part of street scouting in Montreal is that you can step onto the streets for five minutes and find a dozen colourful characters. People are so responsive to having their photo taken and following our blog, something we’ve struggled with a lot more in Vancouver.

In all our years of photographing Montreal street style, our most interesting observation is that most Montrealers don’t really consider themselves all that stylish…and perhaps it’s that effortless, “I woke up like this” attitude that makes their style so cool.

A few of our favourite trends as spotted in Montreal?
A denim coat and slip dress with booties….layers of different but complementary monochromatics….a pea coat with culottes and Adidas….round frames, casual layers, and cropped, ripped denim with cute socks peeking out. What these outfits all seem to have in common is an underlying effortlessness. A willingness to try new trends without caring what others think. Expression through style without thinking too hard about it. After all, we’re always communicating to the world, even when we aren’t saying anything at all.

Scroll ahead for a few of our favourite shots and the beautiful architecture of Montreal.
